AA 006: The Cure for Dependence

In this episode, we’re talking about DEPENDENT people. We answer all of your questions about how to deal with friends who constantly need validation, people who always need to have a significant other, and overly dependent significant others.

We also talk about what it’s like when you’re too independent and how you can learn to ask for help when you need it. Sometimes you just gotta let yo’ pride go for a sec.

We discuss the importance of learning to be independent and what causes dependence in the first place. Why are all these dependent people so needy?!

AA 003: Body Image: When Diet and Fitness Become Toxic

In this episode, we’re talking BODY IMAGE. It can be difficult to maintain a positive body image when we are constantly suffocated by ideas perpetuated through social media, magazines, television, and the Internet, especially as young adults. We also address the lies fed to us by the diet and fitness industry and the unattainable beauty standards that society promotes. We explain how we ground ourselves in a society that constantly tells us we’re not good enough, and we discuss the importance of being honest with yourself about your goals.

We would love to hear your experiences and feelings about this topic. Please send in any comments/questions/thoughts you have by emailing actuallyadultish.com or filling out our “Submit a Topic” form at actuallyadultish.com. Also feel free to tweet us (@actuallyadult)!
