AA 056: Jessica Sepel on Living the Healthy Life

In this episode, I sit down with Jessica Sepel, Australia’s leading nutritionist as well as an author, blogger, and health and wellness expert. Jessica has written two incredible books, The Healthy Life and Living the Healthy Life, and has created the amazing JS Health program, an 8-week plan to quit diets forever, reach your balanced weight, and live the healthy life.

In this episode, Jessica shares her history of fad-dieting, disordered eating, and struggling with her relationship with food. She talks about how she became a nutritionist and how learning about nutrition gave her the tools she needed to ditch the diets and find a balanced lifestyle. We talk about the many different aspects of health and how people can find a balanced weight. We talk about balancing hormones, reducing cortisol, and the importance of a nourishing morning routine. We also talk about health trends we see in the media, why we think girls struggle so much with body image, how to set boundaries with social media, the difference between the health scene in Australia and America, and more. We discuss veganism, ketogenic diets, and extreme approaches to eating. We talk about dieting, overexercising, and how to find good information when it comes to health.
